The Carnival
Horwich Carnival Races Sunday’s programme of events involves the traditional Horwich Carnival Parade.
This splendid procession through the town centre includes brass, samba and pipe bands, floats, walking groups
in fancy dress, Carnival Queens and much, much more. It really is well worth watching.
Entry to the Old Station Park, off Church Street, is free and attractions here include a fairground, charity stalls,
children’s entertainment, talent show and competitions such as family races. The field events also run on the Saturday.
This community event, run by enthusiastic volunteers, is certainly a treat for all the family. It is hoped the whole
event will raise a considerable amount for this year’s chosen charity which is soon to be announced.
